The ITU-T Recommendations developed by the Telecommunication Standardization Sector (formerly CCITT) constitute the basis for international telecommunication standards. They are based on studies of technical, operating and tariff questions and serve to standardise telecommunications on a world-wide basis.

This CD-ROM contains all the current ITU-T Recommendations in two formats:
Recommendations as fully indexed and searchable hypertext formats; and Recommendations in their original Word for Windows format.

• Minimum hardware and software requirements: an IBM PC or compatible personal computer with 640 KBytes memory running MS-DOS version 3.0 or higher,
• a hard disk with 3 MBytes free space,
• any make of CD-ROM drive (Hitachi, Sony, Philips, Panasonic etc.) with a controller and interface cable,
• with ISO 9660 or High Sierra device driver,
• an EGA or VGA high resolution monitor,
• and an HP Laserjet II or similar printer if printing is required.

The recommended configuration is a 386 or 486 PC with high resolution colour graphic screen, for better performance and improved user convenience. The product can be used in either an MS-DOS, MS-Windows, Windows ´97 or Windows NT environment. To use the original files, Word for Windows 7.0 is recommended, although many other text processors can import these files.
