Which project status can a standard go through in its life cycle?

In general a standard starts with the status „project“. In this phase a „suggestion“ is being prepared und discussed. After the adoption by statements of the community , this „suggestion“ gets the status „draft“.

After adaption of the comments oft the public – at ENs the final-draft is put in circulation – the standard gets published and valid.

After 3 or 5 years, a public survey is initialized to assess the need of revision. Based on the result of this survey, the document will be revised, withdrawn or confirmed.
